IFA CHARITY PROJECTS

The International Federation of Aromatherapists is a registered charity in the UK (No 327290 ) whose aim is to increase public awareness of the benefits of aromatherapy in the UK and abroad.

As a charity we work for charity at our 25th Anniversary Conference this year we will be supporting rerest ukst uk.REST UK is Britain's only Emergency Response Massage Team. The aim of REST UK is to provide a unique respite service to those who serve with the Emergency Services during a disaster/critical incident.

The respite service administered by REST UK is in the form of on-site chair massage. The massage is non-invasive and non-intrusive, and has been designed specifically for rescue workers working in extreme conditions.

The massage is applied to the client through clothing. The massage takes about 10-15 minutes and works on the upper and lower back, neck, head, shoulders arms and hands. The massage not only relieves physical tension but when used by REST UK's founder members at Ground Zero in New York City, the chair massage also appeared to help with mental and emotional tension. Studies show that a Chair Massage can relieve mental and physical fatigue, increase work performance, reduce stress, increase circulation, and enhance general well being. It provides a centre for people with HIV and aims to provide support for clients through targeted services and though providing a place of refuge and welcome

BBpositive is an Voluntary Sector Organisation with Charitable status and is a Limited Company by Guarantee. It was founded to empower people to make choices and inject a feeling of self-worth/self respect as, at the time of its creation, statutory agencies or voluntary organisations had little regard for clients and the associated problems of living with HIV/AIDS.

Aims of BB Positive

- To provide opportunities for people affected by HIV/AIDS; to enable one another in dealing with physical and psychological challenges brought on by HIV/AIDS

- To provide information, advice, support, services and arrange activities to enable people living with HIV/AIDS to make positive and informed decisions on how to live well in the context of HIV infection

- To represent the views, interests and experiences of people living with HIV/AIDS; to advocate for prompt and appropriate services, whether provided by the State or independent agencies

- To promote self-help and promote up to date information on HIV/AIDS as essential and complementary to anti-HIV treatments as part of an integrated and holistic approach to successful management of HIV infection
